On April 16 I had the joy of delivering an invited talk for members of the Central Valley World Language Association and MCLL Teachers’ Academy. We discussed the development of the Spanish language over time, with a focus on the many lexical items that find their origin in Arabic. Thank you to the organizers and attendees for making the event a success.

I presented a paper at the 2026 American Association for Applied Linguistics Conference, held in Chicago, IL. It was great visiting Chicago again, learning about exciting new research, but most of all reconnecting with colleagues.
